26-Oct, Day TWO, QUALIFYING FINALS:
Ng advances to main draw as
four Egyptians qualify

Yesterday's 32 winners were back in action today at Wadi Degla, all needing one more win away to securing a place in the main draw.

Just as it did yesterday, the story of the day came at the beginning as World Junior Champion Eain Yow Ng followed up yesterday's win over the top seed with another seeding upset, this time beating Jamaica's Chris Binnie in three close games.

The young Malaysian was the only unseeded player to progress, although five outside the top sixteen also progressed - New Zealand's Lance Beddoes, England's Jaymie Haycocks and Wales' Joel Makin, all beating higher-seeded opponents.

There were four home successes as Mazen Gamal and Karim El Hammamy claimed their seeded main draw spots - Hammamy saving match ball on his way to a thrilling five-game win - and Youssef Soliman and Shehab Essam finishing off the day with two upset results.
